The recently announced shortlist for the first Leadership in Passenger Transport Awards shines a light on key people who work for ALBUM operators.
The Leadership in Passenger Transport Awards is an exciting new initiative that celebrates the outstanding expertise and dedication of managers and supervisors who drive excellence in the UK’s ground passenger transport sector.
Thirteen individuals from six ALBUM operators have been shortlisted in 9 different categories, with the winners announced at the O2 on Thursday 16th July 2026.
Operators represented are Blackpool Transport, Grant Palmer, Nottingham City Transport, Reading Buses, Whippet and Warrington’s Own Buses.
TEG Chair Giles Fearnley commented: “Public transport is crucial for millions and plays a key role in addressing congestion and climate change. The industry’s future depends on the skills, talent and commitment of its managers. This scheme aims to foster and celebrate those qualities.”
“We’re delighted with the strong response to the scheme from public transport operators across the country,” he added. “Just getting to this stage in the competition represents a major achievement of which the nominees should be very proud. We congratulate them warmly, and are very much looking forward to announcing the winners at our Presentation Ceremony on 16 July.”
Bill Hiron of ALBUM said, “It is great to see ALBUM so well represented at the Leadership in Passenger Transport Awards, picking up nominations in nine different categories. I offer my congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted and look forward to celebrating their success next month”.
