Reading Buses Grand Christmas Giveaway for Fourth Year

December 8, 2017

For their fourth annual Grand Christmas Giveaway, Reading Buses has again partnered with local sponsors to spread Christmas cheer and promote bus use at Christmas.

The Grand Christmas Giveaway will take place on December 6, 7 and 8 when Santa and his helpers will be in Reading town centre handing out festive ‘goodies.’

Reading Buses has revealed that this year’s giveaways will include free travel, money off vouchers and their star prize will be an annual pass.  In addition, there will be sponsors’ prizes.

The sponsorship list so far is:

London Irish – 20x family tickets; Reading FC – bundle of tickets for a family; Broad St Mall – 2x £50 gift vouchers; Reading Arts – 2x family tickets to the pantomime; Sainsbury’s – 2x £20 gift cards; IKEA – vouchers; Apres bar – free chalet hire and bottle of Prosecco; Shed – 6x free lunch vouchers; Plus discount vouchers and free travel from Reading Buses – one lucky winner will have the chance to win one year’s free travel!

At the same time, Reading Buses will be helping to make the shopping trips of their customers more enjoyable as well as reminding them of the benefits of bus use.

Said Jake Osman, Communications and Marketing Manager of Reading Buses:  “We love doing our Grand Christmas Giveaway each year. It’s about spreading a bit of festive cheer to our customers and helping to promote bus use over the Christmas period.

“We know that traffic gets extremely heavy at this time of year and people face the hassle of parking, getting out of congested car parks and traffic congestion in general.

“It is the time of course when more and more people come to the town centre for their Christmas shopping as well as to attend festive events and activities.

“So to help relieve the stress of traffic and parking, we like to provide some brightness on the dark nights by giving away free travel and money off products to encourage more people to choose the bus.

“We are incredibly grateful to all our sponsors too who have been extra generous with their support this year.”

For those travelling in a group, Jake said it was still ‘great value’ to get in and out of town using a group ticket which offered unlimited day travel for up to four people for only £6, evenings after 6.00 pm, weekends and school and public holidays, and only £9 at other times.

“There are also plenty of buses running well into the evening every day to help get people home safely after having a mulled wine or two,” he added.
