READING BUSES LAUNCH ‘FESTIVE FORTNIGHT’

December 14, 2021

All the fun of Christmas has begun at Reading Buses as they started their ‘Festive Fortnight’ last Saturday (December 11).

Over the next fortnight Reading Buses employees, including drivers in uniform, will be allowed to wear Christmas hats, accessories and jumpers in addition to their normal attire in exchange for a charitable donation.

And the fortnight kicked off with Santa getting behind the wheel of a bus to start his pre-Christmas shift for the company.

Said Reading Buses Chief Executive Officer Robert Williams: “We are encouraging all employees to participate, at least in part, to Festive Fortnight.

“We know that having our drivers in Christmas hats, jumpers and accessories lifts the spirits of our customers as well as colleagues. We also want as many office staff as possible to wear their Christmas jumpers at least on the first office day on Monday (December 13) to show their support for our charity.”

Robert explained that customers can donate if they feel moved by the activity. “If seeing one of our employees dressed up raises a smile – or maybe you’ve been driven by Santa himself – then please consider donating to Sport in Mind.

“You can text SIM 2 to 70085 to donate £2 to Sport in Mind – you can donate more or less money by changing the 2 after SIM, e.g. SIM 5 donates £5.
