Yellow Buses recently teamed up with Flix drive-in panto to take some local deserving key workers from NHS and their families to see a drive-in panto, held at Adventure Wonderland, near Bournemouth Airport.
To cries of “oh yes it is, oh no it isn’t!” from the startled motorists, our bus was also there, providing a unique vantage point for the families to watch the drive-in panto on the big screen, they benefitted from a speaker system set up on the bus to carry the audio from the on-stage presenters as well as the filmed sequences, in what we believe to be a first in the country.
The Flix Drive-in Panto sponsored by Saxe Coburg brought some much‐needed fun and festivity after an otherwise challenging year. This brand-new concept tells the 2020 version of the traditional classic Cinderella, starring TV and West End actors in a specially recorded panto, presented live on stage by Bournemouth’s resident comic Noel Brodie.
Guests enjoyed festive magic from the moment they arrived, the bus drove down a snowy covered entrance with twinkling lights and trees, they had the chance to overindulge in delicious festive food and drink and enjoyed top notch entertainment including stand‐up comedy, Christmas (bus)car‐a‐oke and (bus) car bingo!
David Squire, Managing Director of Yellow Buses said, “We were absolutely delighted to join forces with Flix, to bring some much needed cheer to our local NHS heroes and their families at Christmas, by taking them to the drive-in panto by bus. They had the best seats in the house and the best view of the screen, as the locally owned, locally operated bus company in Bournemouth, we are proud to continue to serve our NHS and other key workers and to spread a little joy at Christmas.
