The Young Bus Professionals will head to Cambridge for the next conference on 12/13th September 2024 with a diverse range of speakers from a range of operators and suppliers.
The usual packed programme awaits delegates, kicking off with an optional afternoon visit along the Cambridge Guided Busway and to Stagecoach East’s depot. In the evening, our after dinner speaker will be Bill Hiron, Managing Director of Stephensons of Essex and chairman of ALBUM (Association of Local Bus Company Managers).
Friday will feature the popular interactive workshop as well as confirmed speakers, headlined by Stagecoach’s CEO Claire Miles. We’ll also hear from two prolific industry suppliers – Ticketer’s CEO Kelly Hanna and Oli Knights who is the Head of Technical Sales of Equipmake. Rounding up our agenda is Jonathan Ziebart who leads the UK as MD at Ascendal Group, who are represented locally by Whippet.
As we normally do, we will also showcase two of our own members who will share their own experiences as young managers: Nathan Burge from McGill’s Bus Group and Ryan Scott from Ensignbus, now part of FirstBus. Our popular interactive workshop makes its return as we ensure we all share our learnings with each other.
The conference will be held at the Novotel Cambridge North, adjacent to Cambridge North railway station for easy public transport connections.
The cost of the event is subsidised thanks to the support of the Chris Moyes Scholarship Fund. Early bird discounts are available until 11th August, and bookings are now open at youngbusprofessionals.org.uk
Alex Hornby, Young Bus Professionals’ co-patron said: “It is only thanks to the kind support of industry leaders that we can put together another fascinating agenda at our Autumn conference. We look forward to gathering young bus managers from our great industry together once again for two days of networking and best practice sharing.”
