Scarborough Skipper Open Top Bus Returns for 2018

March 29, 2018

Scarborough Skipper Clive FeatherstoneScarborough’s new open top bus has returned for another season.

Local bus company Scarborough & District Buses has announced that the Scarborough Skipper open top bus, which was launched in 2017, will run again during summer 2018.  The bus will run every weekend and school holiday from 24 March until 2 September, and calls at the town’s biggest tourist attractions, including Peasholm Park, Sea Life, Alpamare and the seafront, plus the town centre and the station.

This year, the Skipper has a new improved route, running along the seafront in both directions so people can take in the stunning coastal views.

As well as helping visitors get around the town, the Scarborough Skipper will also be an attraction in itself, as passengers will be able to see the sights from the top of the open deck bus.

The company’s Marketing Manager, Claire Robinson, said that the Scarborough Skipper would help visitors enjoy the town’s tourist attractions.  “We get so many people using our buses to travel up to Scarborough for the day from places such as Bridlington and the east coast holiday villages, and giving them a link from the railway station and town centre to popular attractions such as Alpamare and Sea Life means they can really get the most out of their day.  And what better way to see the sights of Scarborough than from an open top bus?”

Tickets on the Scarborough Skipper start at just £2 for a child day ticket, and family day tickets are available for only £8.  Tickets can be bought on-board the bus, so there’s no need to book in advance, and can also be used on the company’s seafront open top buses.  Passengers can hop on and off the bus at any stop on the Scarborough Skipper route.

Times of the new Scarborough Skipper can be found at www.eyms.co.uk, by ringing BusLine on 01482 59 29 29, or picking up a paper timetable at Scarborough Travel Centre in the Rail Station.
