Reading Buses Announce New Chief Engineer

A man with experience of several management roles in the bus industry has been appointed as Reading Buses new Chief Engineer.

Bill Gough, 45, formerly Head of Engineering at RATP Dev London, will take up his new position with Reading Buses in April.

Announcing the appointment, Robert Williams, Reading Buses Chief Executive Officer, said today: “We are looking forward to welcoming Bill to the team and benefiting from his vast experience and knowledge.

“In particular, the attention he will give to improving fleet standards as well as his people focused approach.”

As Head of Engineering at RATP Dev London, one of the larger independent operators within the TFL network with 11 locations, Bill had overall responsibility for their engineering department’s operational performance.

He started his career as a mechanical apprentice with Hunters of Cuffely moving to London Northern as a psv mechanic for eight years. He subsequently progressed through various management roles with Metroline, Travel London, Arriva the Shires and RATP Dev.

Bill is married, has two children and lives in Watford.
