They have won the Passenger Service Innovation category of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Excellence Awards.

The Passenger Service Innovation award was for Reading Buses Green Line 702 service between Bracknell, Windsor, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and London Victoria.

Reading Buses has added 36% more customers on Green Line 702 in the off-peak season.

A CILT (UK) social media announcement congratulating Reading Buses said they had been recognised for their expansion plans and safeguarding of the future of the business whilst facing adversity.

Said Robert Williams, Reading Buses Chief Executive Officer: “Through a revolution with buses, people, innovation and technology across the past 18 months, we have taken a seemingly simple strategy which has changed customer perceptions.

“On Green Line 702 we have happier customers and employees too.

“After revolutionising Green Line 702 with new routes, timetables, vehicles, marketing and much more, we are delighted to be investing to continue to transform the service with new high specification buses on order.

“We have worked tirelessly on every aspect of Green Line, including a strong customer focus and satisfaction, environmental stewardship and innovation for customers and employees alike, working with our great team to deliver legendary customer service.”

Reading Buses faced competition from shortlisted nominee CoachHire.com when the winner was announced at a glittering ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, on October 17.
