Compass Travel, an independent bus operator in Sussex and Surrey, has officially launched its new mobile bus app, developed in partnership with UrbanThings, a London-based transport technology company.
Building on Compass Travel’s commitment to modernising public transport, the newly launched app offers passengers real-time bus tracking, mobile QR ticketing and seamless journey planning – all within a single, easy-to-use platform. With 101 routes and a fleet of 87 vehicles, the app is set to revolutionise the way passengers navigate their journeys in Sussex and Surrey.
Michael Bishop, Director of Compass Travel commented: “We are thrilled to introduce our new mobile app, which represents a significant step forward in our efforts to modernise public transport for our passengers. By providing real-time tracking and easy ticketing options, we aim to make every journey more convenient and enjoyable.”
In addition to the app launch, Compass Travel’s passenger website is currently undergoing a complete redesign to ensure a cohesive and intuitive digital experience. Upon completion, the updated website will provide passengers with consistent access to real-time information and services across all platforms.
Guy Sutherland, Head of Sales at UrbanThings said: “Launching the app, with the website well underway, is a testament to our strong collaboration with Compass Travel. We look forward to seeing the tools in action, helping to streamline operations and deliver a superior travel experience to passengers in the area.”
Both the app and website are powered by UrbanHub, UrbanThing’s smart transport platform designed to streamline operations and enhance the passenger experience. This launch represents a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between Compass Travel and UrbanThings, setting the stage for future innovations in public transport across the region.
