September 8, 2016

Chalkwell BusWith the return to school for the autumn term, young people travelling in Swale will find themselves pleasantly better off.

For Chalkwell today announced new special lower bus fares for 11 to 19 year olds.

The new fares are £2 for a single journey, £3 for a daily ticket and £9 for seven calendar days of travel.

The lower fares will particularly benefit young people who use the bus to travel to school, including Westlands, Borden Grammar, Highstead, Fulston Manor and Sittingbourne Community College .

A daily and seven day Skoolrider ticket will allow unlimited travel on Chalkwell buses anywhere within Swale with no limit to the number of journeys made per day.

Said Roland Eglinton, Commercial Director of Sittingbourne-based Chalkwell:  “We know a lot of children come into Sittingbourne from The Isle of Sheppey, Upchurch, Lower Halstow and Newington as well as from elsewhere around the borough.

“The new fares initiative provides extra value and gives children more freedom as well as more money to spend as they please.

“If this special offer is a success then we will look to continue it indefinitely as well as seeing what other benefits and services we can also provide.”
