A Chalkwell coach is on standby to take emergency aid to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea for victims of the tower block fire disaster.
Donations of clothing, blankets and non-perishable food collected in Sittingbourne, Isle of Sheppey and Medway towns will be loaded onto a Chalkwell coach and delivered to a receiving centre.
The items will be delivered once the council’s web page indicates further donations can be received.
Chalkwell is working closely with MP Gordon Henderson and the Conservative Association Headquarters in Periwinkle Court , Milton Regis, who are co-ordinating, the donations.
Said Jenny Barham of Chalkwell: “Donations will be accepted locally until the end of today. They will then be stored in readiness to be transported to London .”
