Chalkwell Changes to 2017 Programme

October 19, 2016

Changes have been made by Sittingbourne-based Chalkwell to their holiday and DayBreak programme for 2017 – their 86th year in business.

Whereas previously Chalkwell has produced separate brochures for the winter and summer months, the new brochure for next year will combine everything into one for the whole year.

“This will allow our customers to view our packed programme in its entirety and better plan for the whole year,” said Roland Eglinton, Chalkwell Commercial Director.

“We have included many traditional favourites in the programme as well as plenty of new destinations for 2017.”

Roland said he was inviting customers to join the company in commemorating some special anniversaries in 2017, including the 200 year celebration of Jane Austen by taking a trip to her museum in Hampshire.  He said a guide would provide plenty of Jane Austen facts.

In September Chalkwell will be remembering the battle of Passchendaele on its 100th anniversary by visiting the Ypres battlefields and cemeteries – again with a guide.

Said Roland:  “As a complete contrast, there is fun with the popular ‘Motown the Musical’ for fans of the 1950 and 1960 sounds.  And also new for 2017 is the ‘Views and Vistas’ DayBreak which includes a visit to the Brighton i360 – the world’s first vertical cable car.”

In its holiday programme for 2017, Chalkwell is including the Edinburgh Tattoo for the first time for a while.
