An employee who is said to have ‘invoked real change’ into a Reading Buses role has been nominated by a colleague for a Star of the Month Award.
Andy Gordon, 39, who has worked for Reading Buses for 22 years and lives in Reading, is said to have done a ‘first class job’ since being seconded into the role of night shift supervisor.
The nomination says the results he has managed to achieve speak for themselves.
“He has galvanised the team, bringing them together to work more cohesively with much better results.
“Couple this with the relationship he has built with the operations department, and it is clear he has invoked some real change,” said his colleague..
Caroline Anscombe, Reading Buses HR Director, said: “Andy has achieved fantastic results with the night engineering team, which is particularly great to see from someone who has been seconded into the role. Andy has more than proven himself, and it’s brilliant to be able to reward him with our Star of the Month award.”
Also this month, rural late driver Stuart Kirby, 50, has been nominated for a ‘going the extra mile’ award for suggesting ‘positive’ rota changes.
He worked with another driver to create a new version of the rural late rota.
It includes the addition of another long weekend for the drivers on that rota, the splitting up of a whole fortnight of lion 4 services and has been subsequently introduced by Reading Buses.
Caroline Anscombe said: “Stuart’s innovative thinking and ability to work collaboratively with both other drivers and our scheduling team achieved a great result and truly demonstrated a can-do attitude. Our drivers are the ones on the front line, so feedback like this is important to allow us to make things better wherever we can.”
