Two loyal and long standing members of staff who together completed 63 years’ service have retired, Reading Buses have announced.
Driver Dick Sandhu (pictured far left) spent over 42 years with the company and colleague Baldev Gill, on the right of Chief Executive Officer Martijn Gilbert, more than 21 years.
Dick, 66, from Emmer Green, has had a varied career with the company, working previously in the control room as well as a performance manager.
Baldev, 73, from Lower Earley, pictured right with Reading Buses HR Director Caroline Anscombe, donated £200 to the Reading Buses 2016 charity CALM – Campaign Against Living Miserably – as a token of his appreciation and retirement gift.
Baldev has spent all of his time at the company as a driver, working different routes and rotas.
Said Caroline: “It is always sad to say goodbye to employees who retire and special Dick and Baldev who have been such a huge part of the fabric of the company.
“We thank them both for all their hard work and wish them well for their new journey of success and happiness in the next page of their lives.”
