A grand day out for local care residents

May 4, 2021

Yellow Buses were pleased to grant the wish of local care residents from the Clear Pathway Care home in Parkstone, to travel on Buster’s Beach Bus last Friday, enjoying the fine weather and wonderful coastal views from the upper deck.

Driver Russ Ansell, whose partner works at the home co-ordinated the arrangements and drove the bus on the day, after pick-up in Parkstone they followed the coastal route of Buster’s Beach Bus service 12 through to Hengistbury Head for a refreshment stop, then heading back to the home.

Clear Pathway Care supports users with autism and other learning difficulties, in a small residential home, where they live in single-occupancy rooms with shared communal facilities and receive one to one care from expert staff.

David Squire, Managing Director of Yellow Buses said, “We were delighted to be able to assist when Russ approached us with the idea to give the residents an afternoon out to enjoy the fine weather and views. As a locally owned, locally operated company it is important to us that we are able to find ways to assist local members of our community and I’m pleased that we were able to help in a small way to brighten their day”.

Jason Sherman of Clear Pathway Care said, “We cannot thank Yellow Buses enough for this opportunity. As the needs of our service users are so complex, this experience is not one that our service users would be able to access as a group alongside the general public, although it is one that they thoroughly enjoyed. Families of the service users who joined us on the day were amazed by the generosity of Yellow Buses and really enjoyed their day, we have to give a special thanks to Russell, who gave up his day off to drive our group and was tentative to their needs! Thanks again to all involved who helped to make precious memories for our service users and their loved ones”.
