Keeping our customers covid safe and clean

April 7, 2021

At Yellow Buses and Yellow Coaches, we changed our cleaning regime over a year ago at the start of the pandemic.

All of our fleet are cleaned overnight and prior to entry into service each day, by our dedicated vehicle presentation team, which has been strengthened, with additional team members.

Apart from a thorough deep clean, each vehicle receives a comprehensive touch-point clean, including entrance doors, drivers cabs and ticket machine, plus seat tops and hand-poles.

All of our buses are fitted with hand-sanitiser which we invite you to use when you board and alight, they are conveniently situated near the entrance on luggage racks where fitted or on the bulkhead.

More recently, we have trialled and now made permanent, a roving presentation team member who cleans touch-points on buses operating through the Square during the day-time, our photo shows Raymond Japal, busy cleaning touch-points on the bus doors.

This new initiative is part of our plan to welcome back more of our customers onto our services as the first stage of lockdown eases next Monday with the re-opening of non-essential retail, Monday 12 April also marks the re-opening of our Travel Shop in the Square, conveniently located opposite Boots.

A reminder that face coverings remain mandatory on all forms of public transport unless you have a valid exemption, exemption certificates can be downloaded from our website or from many charities locally.
